LETTER FROM THE MD
Dear SODIC Family and Friends,
In my first message to our homeowners and extended family, I would like to wish you all a very happy and prosperous new year.
I would like to start this message by bidding Ahmed Badrawi (Dasha) farewell. Dasha had been with SODIC for almost ten years when he left. He has contributed greatly to what SODIC is today; achieving record sales, expanding SODIC’s land bank and diversifying its portfolio. He is missed by the whole team and we wish him the best of luck in all his future endeavors.
On a personal note, I am thrilled to have become a part of the SODIC family.
I come to SODIC with almost 30 years of real estate experience. I am excited to take the helm and build on SODIC’s past achievements. This is a great company and I am proud and excited to play a part in its future.
In my first few weeks since joining, SODIC witnessed very exciting events; the award of 655 acres by way of a co-development agreement with New Heliopolis Housing and Development Co, and the closing of the year with another record breaking sales achievement of EGP 4.6 billion, well surpassing the year’s target. Deliveries also surpassed our 677 unit target with 721 units delivered across 8 projects. The last quarter also saw SODIC receiving an award for its flagship development SODIC West, taking home Cityscape’s 2015 award for best built mixed-use development. This comes as a testament to SODIC West’s growing community and nourishing projects, both residential and commercial.
It is because of SODIC’s track record and reputation as a delivery oriented developer that is committed to its stakeholders that we are in our strong position today. Further to the 655-acre plot which has taken SODIC’s undeveloped land bank to almost 13 million square metres, we look forward to further expanding our land bank within Cairo and beyond this year. We also look forward to a series of new launches in the East and West of Cairo as well as the North Coast.
Lastly, I would like to reinforce my commitment to SODIC and its extended family, that I start the next chapter in SODIC’s story with plans to aggressively grow the business while staying true to the core values that make SODIC stand apart. We shall continue to deliver value to all our shareholders, clients and partners by continuously developing and delivering Human Developments.
