CARAVAN 2016 – ‘The Key’ Art Exhibition Opening in London
On Wednesday June 15th CARAVAN’s 2016 initiative “The Key: A Travelling Visual Arts Exhibition” opened at St. James’s Piccadilly in London. Sponsored by SODIC and co-curated by Rev. Paul-Gordon Chandler and Dr. Reda Abdel Rahman, the exhibition features the work of 40 premier visual artists using the world’s most ancient symbol of harmony, the Key of Life that originated in Egypt. Attendees included Revd Lucy Winkett, Rector of St. James’s Piccadilly, His Excellency Mr. Nasser Ahmed Kamel, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in London, Mr. Magued Sherif, Managing Director of SODIC, Lord and Lady Carnarvon of Highclere Castle, The Rt Revd & Rt Hon Dr Richard Chartres, Bishop of London, Sheikh Ibrahim Mogra, Asst. Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain, Ms. Elisa Sednaoui Dellal, Social Entrepreneur, Model and Actress as well as many of the participating artists. A percentage of the proceeds will be directed to Educate Me, an initiative supporting the education of underprivileged children in Egypt. The exhibition will be running until August 15th and is scheduled to travel to New York in September.
